No title as yet, but as the band recently celebrated their 13th anniversary the working title is The Thirteenth Chapter. We've lurked around the studio a couple of times for a sneak preview & can report back that it's sounding very dark & very twisted. The session ends in August with the album set for release on October 20th. A one off UK show at The Astoria on Halloween will celebrate the release. The band also take a couple of breaks from recording in July to play the 'With Full Force Festival' (Germany) on the 6th. 'The Skeleton Bash Festival' (Austria) on the 26th July & 'Sziget Festival' (Hungary) on the 31st. CHARGER The Stoke quintet are back home after a prolonged & highly successful European tour supporting Today Is The Day. Their debut album Confessions Of A Man (Mad Enough To Live Amongst Beasts) is proving to be one of our fastest selling debuts. Not a band to sit on their arses for too long, they will be back on the road in the UK any day now: CHARGER SUMMER CARNAGE July 25 Cardiff Barlfy w/ Khang July 26 Glasgow Cathouse w/ Khang July 27 Manchester Star And Garter w/ Khang, Taint, Art Of Burning Water August 1 Tunbridge Wells Forum w/ Taint August 2 Hartlepool Studio w/ Taint August 3 Harlow Square w/ Taint August 10 London Monarch w/ Khang For those that missed out due to the tour you can still book your chance to interview the band before they hit the road again. THE GREAT DECEIVER Recording is complete for the follow up to the bands debut album: TERRORIZER' writers 5th best album of 2002, A Venom Well Designed. The album was recorded earlier this year at Dug Out Studio's in Uppsala, Sweden. The album is titled Terra Incognito (taken from Proust's - In Search Of Lost Time). Daniel Bergstrand famed for his work with: Meshuggah, Strapping Young Lad & In Flames produced the album with assistance from Örjan Örnkloo (guitarist with Misery Loves Company). Early plays have revealed a huge leap forward in the band's sound. Vocalist Tomas Lindberg told us after the session had ended that Daniel pushed the band extremely hard; resulting in the best work he's ever done. That really is saying something from a guy who's had so many fingers in so many musical pies in his career. Live dates will be announced later in the year. BEYOND DAWN Those crazy Norwegian cross dressing fools are set to release their second album for Peaceville on 21st July - mysteriously titled Frysh. We've had a great response to the three-track single that preceded the album release. A release party is being planned @ Madame Jo Jo's later in the summer. In the fall the band will head out on a Nordic 'concept' tour with electro terrorists Trulz & Robin & wierdy onemanband, Centre Of The Universe. Torre Jazztobakk. Beyond Dawn's guitarist tells us "The tour is called 'We Are Building A Music Machine'. Inspired by The Beatles 'Magical Mystery Tour', Roald Dahl's 'Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory', and Philippe Fix' books about 'Serafin'. All the acts work together in building a big fantasy music-machine. Using cardboard boxes painted as big synths, drum machines and robots, sparkling with hundreds of christmas lights! All the artists participate in each others music and performance." Aw bless. UK dates in the crack pipe. ASGAROTH Barcelona based Asgaroth are heading for this years MILWAUKEE METALFEST (catch then on Friday 25th July), to continue their good work fresh from supporting CRADLE in Spain. The album Red Shift has received some great reviews and created a stir wherever it has gone. Keen to capitalise on the success of their debut Peaceville album, Asgaroth will enter the studio later this year to record the follow-up. KATATONIA After a highly successful headline tour of Europe the laconic Swedes are back in Stockholm, holed up in bed with lots of hankies & night nurse for company, shaking off a nasty bout of tour bus lurgy. As the media train shows no sign of slowing down since the release of their sixth album - Viva Emptiness, Jonas is still in full interview swing between bouts of coughing & sneezing. Poor love. Viva Emptiness sales have exceeded even our high expectations. Expect more festival dates to be announced real soon. NB: We are spring-cleaning our promo lists: From now on anyone who is not reviewing the albums sent will be struck off. So please remember to send us magazines or scans, prompts, links, etc. for any Peaceville release/artists that you feature. Thank you. ==================================================================== This newsletter service is powered by PowerSML v2.1 release 5 Coded by Ewout Pieter den Ouden ====================================================================
