I have just spoken with him at length and the reasons are: 1. He will need more time than first thought to be treated for his current problems (thought again to be ulcers..). This will immediately mean cancelling the two festivals planned in Belgium and Holland. 2. Given the nature of the illness he feels he can no longer risk his health on a long term basis and has regetfully decided that he should leave now rather than prolong the seemingly inevitable. MY DYING BRIDE would like to wish Rick all the best and a speedy recovery. They will still press ahead and intend to hold rehearsals for a new drummer soon. So as not to delay the next album too much. In the meantime, as previously reported - the band are working hard to re-launch a newly organised, new look fanclub with plenty of merchandise available and proper, timely service.
